About the position

The Warehouse Porter/Janitor position at GSC Wholesale LLC is a full-time role focused on maintaining a clean and safe work environment within the warehouse facilities. This position is critical in supporting the company's mission to provide high-quality products to customers while ensuring a tidy and organized workspace. The role involves various janitorial duties, including cleaning, maintaining good housekeeping, and occasionally handling products using material handling equipment.

Responsibilities

• Providing and maintaining a clean and safe work environment as a custodian/janitor.
• Performing janitorial duties such as cleaning the entire warehouse, including office space, employee break areas, windows, and restrooms.
• Maintaining good housekeeping by sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, buffing, and waxing floors.
• Occasionally pulling product out of pick slots using an electric pallet jack to clean with a scrubber and returning product.
• Tending to spills including damaged product, oil, grease, etc.
• Collecting plastic wrap, shredded paper, and empty boxes to be disposed of properly.
• Following all material handling equipment safe operating procedures.
• Occasional safe lifting of varying case weight, shape, and height levels.

Requirements

• Attendance and punctuality are essential.
• General Equivalency Diploma or High School Diploma in General Studies is preferred.
• Demonstrated initiative and productivity in previous roles.
• Commitment to quality and safety in the workplace.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in a janitorial or custodial role is a plus.
• Familiarity with warehouse operations and material handling equipment.
