About the position

The Warehouse Production Assistant Manager position at Goodwill of Central and Northern Arizona (GCNA) involves overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Centralized Processing department. This role is crucial in implementing strategic processes and procedures to meet and exceed production goals while ensuring safety and efficiency. The Assistant Manager will work closely with the Manager and District Manager to maintain product levels that support revenue goals for stores utilizing Centralized Processing. Additionally, the position includes preparing products for new store openings and supporting various retail projects in the market, including in-store training and support as needed. In this role, the Assistant Manager is expected to lead the team to achieve daily operational goals by meeting the minimum quota set for the department. Responsibilities include developing and implementing processes to improve Centralized Processing, safeguarding company property, and maintaining good working relationships with team members. The Assistant Manager will evaluate the efficiency and productivity of team members, audit quality decisions regarding donations, and oversee maintenance to ensure clean and organized workstations. Administrative tasks such as completing performance logs, evaluations, and accurate reporting of productivity and inventory are also part of the job. The Assistant Manager must ensure compliance with safety rules and use appropriate safety equipment. This position plays a critical role in driving company culture change efforts and models Goodwill's core values of Trust, Collaboration, Engagement, Ownership, and Innovation. Other related duties may be assigned as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees day-to-day operations of the Centralized Processing department.
  • Implements strategic processes and procedures to meet and exceed production goals.
  • Works closely with Manager and District Manager to ensure product levels support revenue goals.
  • Prepares product for new store openings.
  • Supports other retail projects in the market, including in-store training and support.
  • Meets minimum quota set for assigned department, leading the team to achieve daily operational goals.
  • Ensures daily plan is followed by assisting with operational flow, production, and sales.
  • Develops and implements processes, procedures, and strategies to improve Centralized Processing.
  • Safeguards company property, including donated goods, and reports any incidents of theft or misappropriation.
  • Maintains good working relationships with Team Members.
  • Evaluates the efficiency and productivity of assigned team members by following performance standards and objectives.
  • Audits quality decisions of donations moving to the store and to salvage.
  • Oversees maintenance to ensure clean and organized workstations.
  • Completes administrative tasks including performance logs and evaluations, and provides accurate reporting of productivity and inventory.
  • Ensures compliance with safety rules and appropriate safety equipment usage.
  • Informs Manager of Special Projects of any potentially hazardous materials found during processing.
  • Builds a high-performing team and creates a culture of safety.
  • Assists with performance management, staffing, compensation, and development of Team Members.
  • Drives company culture change efforts and change management processes.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 2 years processing experience.
  • Minimum 1 year supervisory experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to be trained and take direction.
  • Ability to speak and read English proficiently.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screen, where applicable.
