About the position
The Warehouse Receiving Clerk is responsible for providing clerical support within the distribution center, focusing on data entry, maintaining files, and processing shipping and receiving paperwork efficiently and accurately. This role plays a crucial part in supporting warehouse operations and ensuring smooth workflow in various tasks related to shipping, receiving, and inventory control.
Responsibilities
- Provide clerical support for various warehouse operations such as shipping/receiving, inventory control, and general warehouse operations.
- Create and process work orders and shipping/receiving paperwork, including bills of lading and invoices.
- Validate data from various sources to ensure documentation accuracy.
- Collect unloading fees and balance receipts.
- Work with external customers and warehouse personnel to ensure efficient workflow and resolve discrepancies in paperwork.
- Process and prepare order selector and general warehouse related paperwork in a timely manner.
- Perform clerical tasks such as data entry, copying, faxing, and filing documents.
- Prepare standard department reports and distribute as required.
- Assist with sorting and distributing incoming mail and preparing outgoing mail requests.
- Maintain department supply inventory and order supplies as needed.
- Assist with inventory count as requested.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- One year of general clerical/office or wholesale/warehouse experience preferred.
- Good written and verbal communication skills and customer service skills.
- Strong data entry skills and attention to detail.
- Effective organization, prioritization, and multi-tasking skills.
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).
- Ability to work in a team environment and independently in a fast-paced warehouse operation.
- Ability to work within a warehouse environment and follow safety practices.
