About the position
As a Warehouse Selector at Publix Super Markets, you will play a crucial role in our distribution operations, ensuring that products are efficiently selected and prepared for delivery to our stores. This position is located in our Sarasota, Florida distribution center, where you will work in a high-velocity environment that may involve temperatures exceeding 90 degrees Fahrenheit. Your primary responsibility will be to pull products ordered by Publix stores, place them onto pallets, wrap the finished orders, and prepare them for loading onto trucks. The role is physically demanding, requiring constant walking, lifting, bending, and stretching, making it an excellent fit for individuals who enjoy staying active and fit. You will have the opportunity to determine your earnings based on your performance. The more orders you complete safely and efficiently, the more you can earn each week. The average Publix Selector performs at a rate greater than 100%, which means you can potentially earn above the standard pay. This position also offers various incentives, including a night differential and a weekend differential for hours worked during those times. In addition to your core responsibilities, you will utilize state-of-the-art technology to assist in your tasks, ensuring that you are notified of the products that have been ordered and their locations within the warehouse. As a Warehouse Selector, you will be part of a team that is instrumental in keeping our shelves stocked across more than 1,200 store locations. This role is not just about meeting quotas; it’s about being a team player and contributing to the overall success of Publix.
Responsibilities
- Pull products ordered by Publix stores and place them onto pallets.
- Wrap finished orders and prepare them for delivery.
- Utilize technology to identify ordered products and their locations in the warehouse.
- Work efficiently and accurately to maximize earnings based on performance.
- Maintain safety and quality standards while performing job duties.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Ability to work a rotating schedule, including weekends and holidays.
- Ability to work fluctuating shifts as needed.
- Capable of selecting, lifting, carrying, and stacking products weighing up to 67 pounds.
- Ability to stand, bend, stoop, and perform repetitive work for long periods.
- Experience operating a pallet truck or forklift safely.
- Ability to read, write, and verify numbers accurately.
- Ability to interpret and follow instructions.
- Must pass a Physical Agility Test, as applicable.
