About the position

The Warehouse Senior Industrial Engineer position at Ryder focuses on enhancing the Continuous Improvement culture within operations. The role involves applying engineering methodologies and continuous improvement methods to drive performance improvements in safety, quality, delivery, and cost. The engineer will leverage data analytics and advanced lean tools to identify and eliminate root causes of inefficiencies, while collaborating with employees across various levels and functions.

Responsibilities

  • Collect data and perform statistical analysis.
  • Map and document processes.
  • Independently identify process gaps and recommend improvements.
  • Develop and manage a continuous improvement plan to drive customer value.
  • Drive process improvement activities to enhance key business metrics.
  • Manage and complete continuous improvement and engineering projects.
  • Assess CI initiatives and provide recommendations for future activities.
  • Support go-live and steady state certifications.
  • Identify and support automation projects.
  • Regularly interact with operations management and customers.
  • Coach employees in the use of CI, Quality Assurance, and Lean principles.
  • Apply engineering methodologies/tools to improve operations.
  • Facilitate and execute Value Stream Maps and Kaizen Events.
  • Provide regular reports to measure progress against site objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or Supply Chain and five years of related experience, or a Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or Supply Chain Management with three years of related experience.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
  • Intermediate skills in data visualization tools (PowerBI, Tableau) and database programming (SQL, DAX).
  • Functional experience in developing and managing Leader Standard Work, Visual Management Systems, and PDCA.
  • Intermediate understanding of core engineering and data analysis functions.
  • Knowledge of warehouse design tools such as CAD and Warehouse Management Systems.
