About the position

The Senior Continuous Improvement Engineer at Ryder is responsible for enhancing operational efficiency through the application of continuous improvement methodologies. This role focuses on identifying process gaps, implementing data-driven solutions, and driving change to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost metrics across the supply chain operations. The engineer will collaborate with various teams to leverage engineering tools and analytics, ensuring the successful execution of continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Collect data and perform statistical analysis to identify process gaps.
  • Develop and manage a continuous improvement plan to drive value for customers.
  • Drive process improvement activities to enhance key business metrics.
  • Manage and complete continuous improvement and engineering projects.
  • Support go-live and steady-state certifications for CI initiatives.
  • Coach employees in the use of CI, Quality Assurance, and Lean principles.
  • Facilitate Value Stream Maps and Kaizen Events to achieve operational excellence.
  • Provide regular reports on progress against site objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or Supply Chain and five years of related experience, or a Master's degree with three years of experience.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
  • Intermediate knowledge of data visualization tools (PowerBI, Tableau) and database programming (SQL, DAX).
  • Experience in developing and managing Lean methodologies such as PDCA, Value Stream Mapping, and Kaizen.
  • Understanding of core engineering and data analysis functions related to warehousing and transportation.
