About the position

The Warehouse Senior Industrial Engineer position at Ryder focuses on enhancing the Continuous Improvement (CI) culture within operations. The role involves applying engineering methodologies and data analytics to identify and implement process improvements that enhance safety, quality, delivery, and cost efficiency. The engineer will work closely with various levels of employees and management to drive change and support automation projects, ensuring effective execution of CI initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Collect data and perform statistical analysis to identify process gaps.
  • Develop and manage a continuous improvement plan to drive value for customers.
  • Drive process improvement activities to enhance key business metrics.
  • Manage and complete CI and steady-state engineering projects.
  • Support go-live and steady state certifications for CI initiatives.
  • Identify and support automation projects within operations.
  • Facilitate Value Stream Maps and Kaizen Events to achieve operational excellence.
  • Provide regular reports on data and actions to measure progress against site objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or Supply Chain and five years of related experience, or a Master's degree with three years of experience.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
  • Intermediate skills in data visualization tools (PowerBI, Tableau) and database programming (SQL, DAX).
  • Experience in developing and managing Lean tools and methodologies such as Value Stream Mapping and Kaizen.
  • Understanding of core engineering and data analysis functions related to warehousing and transportation.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of Warehouse Management operations and Lean methods.
  • Experience with warehouse design tools such as AutoCAD and slotting software.
  • Familiarity with material handling solutions and automation types.
  • Lean Six Sigma, cPMP, ISO/QMS certifications preferred.
  • APICS and/or Supply Chain Logistics Certification preferred.
