About the position

The Warehouse Senior Industrial Engineer at Ryder System plays a crucial role in supporting the Continuous Improvement culture across operations. This position focuses on applying continuous improvement methods to enhance performance in safety, quality, delivery, and cost. The engineer will leverage data analytics and engineering methodologies to identify and implement process improvements, ensuring effective collaboration with employees at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Collect data and perform statistical analysis to identify process gaps and recommend improvements.
• Develop and manage a continuous improvement plan to drive value for customers.
• Manage and complete continuous improvement and engineering projects to improve business results.
• Support go-live and steady state certifications and identify automation projects.
• Facilitate Value Stream Maps and Kaizen Events, coaching process owners on lean methods.
• Provide regular reports on data and actions to measure progress against site objectives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or Supply Chain with five years of related experience, or a Master's degree with three years of experience.
• Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
• Intermediate skills in data visualization tools (PowerBI, Tableau) and database programming (SQL, DAX).
• Experience in developing and managing Lean tools and quality standards, including PDCA and Value Stream Mapping.
• Intermediate understanding of core engineering and data analysis functions.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of warehouse design tools such as CAD and Warehouse Management Systems.
• Familiarity with material handling solutions and automation types.
• Lean Six Sigma, cPMP, ISO/QMS certifications preferred.
• APICS and/or Supply Chain Logistics Certification preferred.
