About the position

The Warehouse Shift Manager oversees all warehouse operations at Suja's Oceanside facilities, focusing on the management of inbound and outbound goods. This role is responsible for leading teams, ensuring safety and efficiency, and maintaining accurate inventory control. The manager utilizes the Warehouse Management ERP system to monitor operations and drive continuous improvement in processes.

Responsibilities

  • Directly responsible for all shipping and receiving of raw and finished goods.
  • Ensure orders are dispatched and arrive at the appropriate destinations on time and in the correct quantities.
  • Lead and develop the warehouse team, optimizing safety, efficiency, productivity, inventory management, and waste control.
  • Establish operational procedures such as verifying incoming and outgoing shipments, handling material disposition, and maintaining up-to-date warehouse inventory.
  • Communicate warehousing, material handling, and shipping requirements, ensuring staff adherence to these standards.
  • Ensure full compliance with prescribed QMS, GMPs, and SOP processes.
  • Participate in planning the flow of goods from suppliers to production and ultimately to customers.
  • Manage and coach logistics professionals to deliver optimal service at minimum cost.
  • Oversee all material warehousing activities to support production and customer service.
  • Plan the arrangement of goods within the warehouse and organize special requirements for certain items, such as chilled goods or allergens.
  • Manage teams of workers and handle personnel issues, including recruitment, training, and discipline.
  • Ensure planned KPIs for efficiency and performance are met or exceeded.
  • Verify data accuracy within the Warehouse Management ERP system (NetSuite/RF Smart).
  • Perform data entry to complete transactions in a timely manner.
  • Extract reports from NetSuite to support organizational needs.
  • Collaborate with multiple departments to support user training and system best practices.
  • Document changes to system requirements or operating procedures.
  • Assist in reviewing and reconciling system inventory.
  • Implement and drive continuous improvement activities through change management processes and best practices.
  • Adhere to SOP, SSOP, GMP, and HACCP guidelines when in the plant.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a high school diploma; a bachelor's degree or trade school education/certification is preferred.
  • 5+ years of warehouse/inventory management experience preferred.
  • Experience leading managerial and supervisory-level associates.
  • Extensive knowledge of warehouse management ERP processes and systems.
  • Strong understanding of inventory management processes and systems.
  • Proficient with Microsoft products such as Excel, Word, Teams, and Outlook.
  • Certified trainer on all material handling equipment per OSHA standards.
  • English fluency is mandatory; bilingual fluency in Spanish is preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with 5S, Lean, and Six Sigma methodologies is preferred.
  • HACCP knowledge is preferred.
