About the position
The Warehouse Shift Operations Manager is responsible for planning and coordinating the operations of a warehouse distribution facility. This role ensures that quality, safety, and production requirements are met or exceeded while overseeing daily shift operations, including selection, shipping, receiving, cross docking, and trailer loading operations.
Responsibilities
- Directly oversee daily shift operations including selection, shipping, receiving, cross docking, and trailer loading operations.
- Lead and manage Warehouse Supervisors in the efficient and safe operation of warehouse activities.
- Take immediate action to resolve any problems that could impact daily labor standards and timely completion of shift requirements.
- Monitor labor standards daily and take appropriate action to ensure standards are achieved.
- Conduct performance management activities including annual performance appraisals and design of training and career development plans.
- Ensure that progressive coaching and counseling concepts are conducted according to established policies and procedures.
- Participate in determining department operating budget.
Requirements
- 2-5 years of general warehouse experience with a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Associate Degree, Bachelor's Degree, General Equivalency Diploma, or High School Diploma in General Studies.
Nice-to-haves
- Bilingual skills are a plus.
- Certifications in Food Safety, Fork Lift Operator, HACCP preferred.
