About the position
As a Warehouse Shift Operations Manager, you will be responsible for planning and coordinating the operations of a warehouse distribution facility. Your primary focus will be to ensure that quality, safety, and production requirements are met or exceeded during your shift. This role involves overseeing daily operations, managing warehouse supervisors, and ensuring compliance with labor standards and safety regulations.
Responsibilities
- Directly oversee daily shift operations including selection, shipping, receiving, cross docking, and trailer loading operations.
- Lead and manage Warehouse Supervisors to ensure efficient and safe warehouse activities.
- Take immediate action to resolve any problems impacting daily labor standards and timely completion of shift requirements.
- Monitor daily labor standards and take appropriate actions to ensure standards are achieved.
- Conduct performance management activities including annual performance appraisals and design training and career development plans.
- Ensure progressive coaching and counseling are conducted according to established policies and procedures.
- Participate in determining the department operating budget.
Requirements
- 2-5 years of general warehouse experience with a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Associate Degree in General Studies or equivalent experience.
Nice-to-haves
- Bilingual skills are a plus.
- Certifications preferred in Food Safety, Fork Lift Operator, HACCP.
