About the position

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Shipping and Receiving Clerk to manage the flow of goods in and out of our warehouse. This role involves ensuring that all shipments are processed accurately and efficiently, with a focus on maintaining inventory accuracy and collaborating with team members to complete tasks effectively.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize shipments based on open order reports.
• Prepare orders for small package, LTL, or truckload shipments.
• Determine the optimal shipping method and prepare necessary shipping documents.
• Perform shipping-related transactions in the ERP system.
• Research freight discrepancies and lost/damaged shipments, requesting proof of delivery documents as needed.
• Update and generate daily reports.
• Provide freight quotes as required.
• Unload incoming inventory and non-inventory items, staging them in designated areas.
• Inspect received shipments for damages or defects, notifying the supervisor and/or purchasing personnel.
• Verify incoming shipments against packing slips and report any discrepancies.
• Perform inventory-related transactions in the ERP system.
• Issue materials to appropriate electronic and/or physical storage locations.
• Conduct routine cycle counts to maintain inventory accuracy.
• Maintain department database, prepare routine reports, and file receiving records.
• Perform additional job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Previous experience in shipping and receiving roles within a distribution center or warehouse setting is preferred.
• Proficient in simple arithmetic.
• Familiarity with warehouse management systems and ability to follow established shipping and receiving procedures and 6S guidelines.
• Proficiency in operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and order pickers is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while adhering to safety protocols.
