About the position
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Shipping and Receiving Clerk to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the flow of goods in and out of our distribution center, ensuring that all shipments are accurately processed and documented, which contributes to the efficiency of our warehouse operations.
Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Prepare outgoing shipments by packing products securely and labeling them accurately.
- Utilize warehouse management systems to track inventory levels and manage stock.
- Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, reach trucks, pallet jacks, and order pickers to move products efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment within the shipping and receiving area.
- Conduct regular inventory counts to ensure accuracy in stock levels.
- Assist in resolving any discrepancies related to shipments or inventory.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a shipping and receiving role within a distribution center or warehouse setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of materials requirements planning (MRP) processes is beneficial.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
