About the position

The Warehouse Specialist works collaboratively within a team to achieve warehouse operations goals. This position involves a variety of tasks, including sorting, receiving, order fulfillment, facility maintenance, lawn care oversight, and forklift operation. This is a safety-sensitive position.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate industrial lift trucks and other motorized and non-motorized equipment to unload trailers, transport, select, stock, and load heavy/large merchandise.
  • Meet safety, accuracy, and production standards for all assignments.
  • Successfully operate the handhelds and other technology that is required to complete tasks in the warehouse.
  • Receive all incoming shipments of products that is delivered to the Foodbank.
  • Select product safely with a high degree of accuracy when pulling orders.
  • Assist agencies with loading of their pallets in the agency pick up area.
  • Put up product from receiving to put-away bins in the cooler, freezer, and dry warehouse.
  • Assist in conducting the warehouse activity plan daily.
  • Complete proper receiving and shipping forms.
  • Make safety inspection of the equipment at the beginning of each day. Turn inspection report in to Warehouse Manager.
  • Assist Hunter Pantry with stocking.
  • Ensure the warehouse is kept clean and organized by performing routine cleaning tasks.
  • Maintain cleanliness in work areas, restrooms, and common spaces throughout facility. This includes deep cleaning tasks, addressing immediate maintenance needs, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Oversee the lawn care and landscaping around the warehouse, including mowing grass, maintain walkways, parking lots, and entrances to ensure safe, clean, and aesthetically pleasing outdoor areas.
  • Inspect all incoming loads for evidence of spoilage, odors, damaged containers, insects, rodents, excessive heat damage, freezer damage, water damage, mold or product leakage and report same to Warehouse Manager.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One-year relevant experience
  • Must be certified to operate power industrial equipment (forklift, pallet jack, etc.) or be able to pass power industrial certification. The power industrial certification will be administered by the Arkansas Foodbank
  • Must pass a background check and preemployment drug screening
