About the position

Leidos is seeking a Warehouse Specialist to join the Program Management team in Edgewood, MD. This role supports the US Army Common Hardware Systems - 6th Generation (CHS-6) contract, focusing on modernizing the procurement and distribution of military equipment. The Warehouse Specialist will be responsible for inventory management, operating material handling equipment, and ensuring the efficient flow of materials within the warehouse.

Responsibilities

  • Support tracking of incoming materials for inventory.
  • Work with quality control, purchasing, and planning to ensure components flow and visibility.
  • Operate a forklift and pallet jack, with training and certification provided by Leidos.
  • Complete goods receipt of material against purchase orders.
  • Prepare and ship completed kits.
  • Support property inventory and management functions.
  • Operate computer equipment and customized software for equipment tracking.
  • Assist with operations of a supply room, including stocking shelves and inventorying.
  • Complete miscellaneous tasks as assigned to support the organization.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma; preferred to be a graduate of a 2-year technical school.
  • Five (5) or more years' warehouse experience.
  • Experience operating material handling equipment such as forklift and pallet jack.
  • Understanding of commercial and DOD packaging requirements.
  • Ability to assist with supply room operations, including stocking shelves and inventorying.
  • Ability to reconcile inventory data for tracking, monitoring, and shipping.
  • US Citizenship.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an active DoD Secret security clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Strong background in IT equipment & Defense contracting.
  • Knowledge of military supply/property management policies and procedures.
