About the position

As a Warehouse Specialist at Southwire Company, you will play a crucial role in supporting manufacturing operations by providing comprehensive warehousing and logistics services. This position focuses on ensuring accurate fulfillment of customer orders while adhering to safety and quality standards. You will be responsible for various tasks including receiving, storing, picking, packaging, and shipping products, as well as operating material handling equipment such as forklifts. Responsibilities

• Accurately receive, store, pick, cut, package, and ship products to meet operational metrics.
• Operate forklifts and other powered material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
• Fill customer orders and deliver them to the correct staging area.
• Ensure completeness and correctness of all orders filled, including quantity, quality, packaging, labeling, and addressing.
• Count products upon receiving, compare to packing lists, and check for damages.
• Unload inbound shipments safely and move products to proper storage locations.
• Efficiently pick customer orders for shipment and assemble orders as necessary.
• Maintain equipment in a clean and orderly fashion and perform minor maintenance as needed.
• Keep appropriate records for inventory control and assist in physical inventories and cycle counts.
• Follow all company environmental and safety procedures.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year experience operating a forklift.
• Basic computer skills including MS Excel, MS Word, and data entry; SAP experience is desirable.
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
• Must be able to stand/walk for up to 10-12 hours and meet physical requirements such as lifting, bending, and standing for long periods.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Extreme attention to detail, organization, and accuracy.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with warehouse computer applications.
• Ability to work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift.
