About the position

As a Warehouse Supervisor at Grainger, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accurate receipt of products, order fulfillment, and the optimization of resources and processes. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee one of our daytime Outbound operations teams in a high-volume, multi-shift distribution center. This position requires you to be actively present on the production floor, where you will teach and coach a team of up to 20 members. Your leadership will be essential in guiding your team to follow established processes, ensuring compliance with procedures, and identifying opportunities for process improvements. You will also promote programs that foster an engaging and empowering work environment for your team members. In this role, you will be responsible for inspiring your team to maintain Grainger's status as an employer of choice within the community. You will have the opportunity to coach and teach, focus on safety, provide recognition, and cultivate a positive work culture. Your shift will typically run from Monday through Friday, starting around 9:30 a.m. until the work is completed. You will report directly to a Manager of Distribution Process and will be based in our Denver, CO Distribution Center. Your duties will include gathering and analyzing key performance data related to production, safety, quality, cycle time, and financial metrics to understand your team's performance. You will communicate trends and issues to the leadership team and support various Distribution Center-wide projects, ensuring that all deliverables are met by their commitment dates. Creating a positive workplace culture that enhances team member engagement and ensures fair treatment will be a priority. You will also be committed to a culture of recognition, feedback, and development, providing coaching opportunities to help your team improve. This may involve interviewing and training new hires, assigning and directing work, identifying development goals, and conducting performance evaluations. Additionally, you will demonstrate root-cause thinking to identify continuous improvement opportunities and focus on teaching team members the importance of following standard processes to enhance customer experience. Compliance with company policies and governmental regulations, such as OSHA, DOT, and EPA, will also be part of your responsibilities.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or relevant work experience.
  • 2+ years previous leadership or supervisor experience in a high-volume, multi-shift, order fulfillment distribution center.
  • Ability to lift 60+ lbs.
  • Self-motivated with strong analytical and data mining skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach and develop direct reports.
  • Strong time management skills to effectively plan shifts.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite, especially Excel, with the ability to perform complex functions.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
