About the position

The Warehouse Operations Supervisor (Inventory Management) at Cardinal Health is responsible for overseeing a team that manages materials handling and product distribution within a distribution or manufacturing environment. This role focuses on demand planning, customer forecasting, supply planning, and optimizing inventory levels to minimize costs while ensuring high-quality service. The Supervisor plays a crucial role in maintaining operational excellence and enhancing customer service by ensuring timely and accurate shipments.

Responsibilities

  • Directs and manages a team of inventory control warehouse associates to account for timely distribution and receipt of products.
  • Oversees all inventory control operations, managing the flow of goods and optimizing inventory levels.
  • Completes SOX Reporting requirements and participates in QA events, addressing discrepancies and processing customer returns.
  • Implements best practices and maintains accurate inventory records.
  • Adheres to budgetary guidelines and meets Distribution Center objectives while maintaining quality standards.
  • Drives and participates in continuous improvement projects and initiatives.
  • Schedules the workforce to ensure proper staffing for efficient operations.
  • Develops and maintains an inventory tracking system.
  • Evaluates inventory levels and monitors stock availability regularly.
  • Monitors and reports inventory accuracy and shrinkage.
  • Designs and implements inventory control procedures and examines raw material levels for shortages.
  • Documents daily shipments and deliveries for replenishment.
  • Engages in employee development through training, coaching, and performance appraisals.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams, particularly within HR.
  • Interviews and makes hiring decisions for lead and associate roles.
  • Maintains responsibility for the disciplinary process and ensures a productive work climate.
  • Prepares ad hoc reports using Excel or other necessary programs.
  • Reviews attendance/PTO records and ensures proper scheduling.
  • Enforces compliance with safety regulations and Cardinal Health policies.

Requirements

  • 4-8 years of experience in inventory management or related field.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Prior experience with inventory control and continuous improvement projects.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Previous experience leading a team.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel, including Pivot Tables and spreadsheets.
  • Experience working within ERP systems such as SAP or Manhattan.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with demand planning and customer forecasting systems.
  • Familiarity with supply planning and product deployment processes.
