About the position

The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily operations in a logistics environment, including labor management, planning, and communication with customers. This role involves supervising the receiving, warehousing, and shipping of products while ensuring compliance with company policies and performance objectives. The Supervisor will manage staff, conduct training, and implement cost-saving measures to enhance operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct staff meetings to review daily/weekly work activities and plan for continuous improvement.
  • Keep senior management and client representatives informed of critical operational issues.
  • Develop systems and procedures for managing operations, equipment, and products safely and profitably.
  • Manage operations to meet productivity and service goals, complying with client agreements.
  • Implement ongoing cost savings measures and provide suggestions for efficient operations.
  • Meet client specified KPIs and comply with quality system requirements.
  • Apply communication and motivational techniques to supervise and counsel team members.
  • Assist in creating hiring, training, and professional development programs.
  • Participate in performance evaluations and recommend promotions or wage increases.
  • Train new staff and assess their progress, delegating training responsibilities as needed.
  • Review pending jobs and plan for warehouse space reorganization and staffing needs.
  • Keep Manager informed of progress or problems requiring attention.
  • Hold regular meetings with warehouse staff to discuss status and improvement ideas.
  • Assist in physical operations as needed.
  • Maintain high motivation levels in team members to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Provide growth and development opportunities for team members.
  • Conduct annual performance reviews for team members and support adherence to SOPs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 3 years of experience in a logistics/distribution environment.
  • 1 year of supervisory experience required.
  • Satisfactory completion of a forklift training program is necessary.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), RF Scanners, and WMS functions.
  • Strong attention to detail and good organizational skills are essential.
  • Good communication skills, both written and oral, are required.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights and weekends.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior MHE certification or knowledge of basic MHE operation is preferred.
