About the position
The Warehouse Supervisor at SpartanNash is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the warehouse, including shipping, receiving, selection, loading, and storage. This role involves assigning tasks to distribution associates, ensuring productivity and accuracy, maintaining a safe work environment, and providing training as necessary. The supervisor will also coordinate with cross-functional departments to resolve issues and ensure compliance with safety and sanitation regulations.
Responsibilities
- Supervise day-to-day warehouse activities such as shipping, receiving, selection, loading, and storage.
- Assign work to warehouse associates to ensure timely and efficient completion of tasks.
- Maintain reporting on warehouse-related KPIs and ensure a safe and clean work environment.
- Ensure compliance with distribution procedures and governmental regulations.
- Coordinate day-to-day scheduling of associates based on resources and volume.
- Lead pre-shift meetings and communicate important information to associates.
- Manage staffing, training, performance management, and career development of associates.
Requirements
- High School Graduate or Equivalent (GED).
- Three years of warehouse distribution experience preferred.
- One year of supervisory or lead experience required.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organization, prioritization, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
- Good leadership and training skills; ability to work with all levels of management and associates.
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel and Word).
- Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems.
