About the position

The Warehouse Supervisor at American Metals Supply, LLC is responsible for overseeing the operations of the warehouse, ensuring efficient and effective distribution of materials to meet customer requirements. This role involves managing a team of warehouse leads and associates, maintaining safety standards, and implementing process improvements to enhance productivity and employee development.

Responsibilities

• Create an environment that drives positive employee relations, teamwork, and company pride.
• Maintain warehousing and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.
• Ensure all employees are effectively trained and conduct retraining & cross-training to enhance employee development.
• Evaluate employee performance metrics to ensure quality delivery and cost-efficient work-flow processes to instill a continuous improvement culture.
• Safeguard warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols.
• Control inventory levels by conducting physical counts and reconciling with data storage system.
• Maintain physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts, inspecting equipment, issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement.
• Ensure all operations follow OSHA and Company safety standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of experience in a warehouse or distribution supervisor leadership position.
• At least 2 years of prior warehouse or distribution experience required.
• Process improvement & SOP development experience a plus.
• Ability to operate a manual/powered pallet jack or lift product.
• Background in trucking - a plus.
• Experience using measurement tools required.
• Computer proficiency required.
