About the position

The Warehouse Team Lead in Returns at Wayfair is responsible for assisting the supervisor in managing and overseeing all warehouse functions to ensure smooth operations. This role involves leading the receiving department, managing inventory, delegating tasks, and ensuring the proper use of tools while maintaining cleanliness and efficiency in the warehouse environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist the supervisor in managing and overseeing all functions of the warehouse.
• Lead the receiving department and ensure correct operations.
• Delegate and assign work to maintain a 100% fill rate.
• Help manage inventory and conduct necessary training within the department.
• Ensure proper use and accountability of tools.
• Respond to email and verbal inquiries in a timely manner.
• Oversee the cleanliness of the department, including daily trash compacting.
• Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

• Working understanding of tangerine system.
• Leadership and motivational skills with decision-making ability based on policies or common sense.
• Physical capability to repeatedly lift up to 75 pounds unassisted and maneuver products over 150 pounds with assistance.
• Experience in multiple warehouse departments including receiving, inventory control, pick, pack, ship, and returns.
• Experience with composing and replying to emails.
• Ability to operate or willingness to be trained on Powered Industrial Truck Operations (PITO).
• Experience with creating and updating systems such as trouble tickets.
• 2+ years of working experience.
• Excellent attendance record.
• Ability to read and comprehend English for safety purposes.
