About the position

As a Warehouse and Service Technician at Home Safety Solutions, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient preparation and delivery of hurricane protection products. Our family-owned company, established in 1986, specializes in providing and installing hurricane shutters, panels, screens, and impact glass for both residential and commercial properties in the upper Tampa Bay area. Your responsibilities will encompass a variety of tasks that are essential to our operations, including the preparation of products for installation, receiving and inspecting deliveries, and maintaining an organized and clean warehouse environment. You will also be responsible for managing inventory, ordering necessary supplies, and ensuring timely scheduling and performance of customer repairs. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to maintaining high standards of service and safety. In addition to warehouse duties, you will assist with product installations at job sites and maintain service records for our service trucks and forklift. Your role will also involve opening and closing the warehouse premises, ensuring security and proper access. We are looking for a detail-oriented individual who can work independently while also thriving in a team environment. Your ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks will be key to your success in this position. Responsibilities

  • Preparing hurricane protection products for installation, including use of power tools
  • Receiving and inspecting ordered products upon delivery
  • Comparing records to orders placed and received
  • Maintaining storage area by organizing floor space
  • Keeping warehouse orderly and clean
  • Ordering hardware and supplies
  • Maintaining good inventory control
  • Pick-up and delivery of products and supplies to warehouse and/or job sites
  • Ensuring customers repairs are scheduled and performed in a timely manner
  • Assistance with product installation on job sites and customer repairs, as needed
  • Maintaining service records for service trucks and a forklift
  • Opening warehouse and premises by unlocking all gates and doors upon opening
  • Closing warehouse and premises by locking all gates and doors upon closing (when needed)

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to work productively with basic tools such as tape measure, saws, drills, and screwdriver
  • Ability to work independently and maintain a professional demeanor
  • Exceptional time management and organization skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) and CRM
  • Proficiency with online ordering and apps on mobile PDA
  • Detail-orientation is an absolute requirement
  • Strong multi-tasking and prioritization skills
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs occasionally
  • Ability to operate a forklift is a must
  • Ability to work in a multi-team environment
  • Physical strength, stamina, and the ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record required
