About the position
Penske Logistics is seeking dedicated warehouse associates to join our team as Freezer Order Selectors. As a Freezer Order Selector, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that products are accurately staged and sorted for loading, contributing to the overall efficiency of our operations. This position offers a competitive wage of $21.79 per hour, along with a $1500 retention bonus, making it a rewarding opportunity for those looking to build a career in logistics. The work schedule for this position is structured to provide flexibility, with shifts available from Sunday to Wednesday or Wednesday to Saturday, both starting at 5 AM and concluding at 3:30 PM or until the work is completed. This role requires a commitment to maintaining a clean and safe work environment, as well as the ability to work independently and collaboratively with team members across different shifts. You will be responsible for various tasks, including sorting and placing products in designated areas, stacking cardboard boxes and pallets, and packaging finished products for shipping. Additionally, you will utilize a warehouse management system to electronically scan products, ensuring quality control and proper handling of damaged items. As a safety-sensitive position, it is essential that associates remain alert and adhere to safety protocols at all times. The role demands physical stamina, as you will frequently move, stand, walk, and lift items weighing up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs occasionally. Responsibilities
- Accurately stage and sort products for loading
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
- Sort and place parts in racks or other designated areas
- Stack cardboard boxes and pallets
- Move materials within the warehouse
- Package or kit finished product for shipping (shrink wrapping, boxing, labeling)
- Electronically scan products using a warehouse management system
- Conduct quality control checks
- Ensure damaged products are identified and removed when received
- Communicate with associates from other shifts
- Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets or shelves, or convey orders to packing station or shipping department
- Complete other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor
Requirements
- No prior warehouse experience required but preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Proficient reading skills and ability to follow directions required
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Customer service skills and ability to deal with others
- Multi-tasking and organizational skills required
- Flexibility to work overtime preferred
- Ability to work in non-climate-controlled conditions required
- Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
- Willingness to work the required schedule and at the specific location required
