This position involves a variety of tasks related to the handling of cargo, including picking, receiving, and storing products, as well as ensuring the accuracy and safety of shipments. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, possess good communication skills, and be able to work in a fast-paced environment. In this role, you will be responsible for using radio equipment frequently to assist with the picking, receiving, and storing functions. You will also ensure that inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage, operate product handling equipment safely, and perform tasks such as labeling, sorting, and re-packing as needed. Additionally, you will assist with inventory procedures and maintain the cleanliness of the facility. This position requires flexibility in scheduling, including the possibility of working weekends and holidays as necessary. Responsibilities

  • Use radio frequently for picking, receiving, and storing functions as required.
  • Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage.
  • Operate product handling equipment safely and efficiently while loading and unloading freight.
  • Perform labeling, sorting, and re-packing as needed.
  • Perform inventory procedures accurately and with the utmost integrity.
  • Assist with pallet and cargo preparation.
  • Clean facility and/or trash compactor.
  • Ship and receive cargo according to applicable regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED or significant relevant working experience.
  • Some computer skills including data entry and maintenance.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to accommodate a flexible work schedule including weekends and holidays.

Nice-to-haves

  • Some knowledge of general and Import/Export computer application technology.
  • Some knowledge of international commerce (Incoterms, customs regulations, etc.) is desirable.
