About the position

The Warehouser I position at Puget Sound Energy (PSE) is a critical role focused on the efficient management of materials within the warehouse. This position emphasizes safety, compliance with regulations, and the proper handling of inventory to support the company's operations. The role involves receiving, issuing, and maintaining materials, ensuring accurate record-keeping, and adhering to safety protocols. Successful candidates will demonstrate a commitment to ethical conduct and regulatory compliance while contributing to a clean and orderly warehouse environment.

Responsibilities

• Receiving and inspecting materials, documenting vendor communications, and resolving issues.
• Maintaining inventory records in accordance with department and SOX requirements.
• Selecting and packing materials ordered by customers in a safe manner.
• Planning loads to maximize space efficiency and comply with DOT regulations.
• Operating forklifts and other equipment proficiently for loading and unloading materials.
• Maintaining a clean and orderly warehouse and yard areas.
• Performing stores functions and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Valid driver's license is required.
• High school diploma or equivalent is necessary.
• Experience in handling, record keeping, and control of various parts and materials using a computerized control system.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, with the ability to learn new applications.
• Ability to safely lift 50 pounds consistently and 70 pounds occasionally using proper techniques.
• Mathematical skills for basic operations and measurements are required.
• Must obtain a Material Handling Equipment Operator's Certificate within 30 days of selection.
• Must obtain a valid CPR/First Aid card within one year of employment.
