About the position
This position is responsible for coordinating all aspects of plant maintenance, including leading and directing maintenance technicians. The role focuses on fostering a well-trained and motivated staff, managing preventative maintenance and repairs of equipment, and ensuring a safe and clean working environment. The individual will support the company's FSQA policies related to maintenance and work to minimize production downtime by quickly assessing and addressing problems.
Responsibilities
- Lead and direct maintenance technicians.
- Foster a well-trained and motivated staff.
- Direct and coordinate maintenance policies and procedures.
- Manage and oversee preventative maintenance and repairs of equipment.
- Support company's FSQA policies as it relates to maintenance.
- Quickly assess problems to minimize downtime of production.
Requirements
- Ability to lead, direct, evaluate, and train a staff of direct reports.
- Experience in measuring, monitoring, and reducing machine downtime.
- Ability to diagnose basic electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, plumbing, and electronic (PLC) problems and assist with repairs.
- Promote a 'Safety First' culture among staff.
- Develop and maintain an effective preventative maintenance program for equipment and plant.
- Education: Associates degree or college program certificate; or 5+ years related experience and training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5 years of experience as a maintenance lead or supervisor with direct reports preferred.
- Experience in directing, evaluating, and training maintenance technicians preferred.
- Communication skills to express ideas clearly in writing and verbally.
- Basic PLC experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite programs including Word, Excel, and Outlook at the intermediate level.
