The technician is responsible for completing all washout procedures for the trailers assigned for the day, following specific instructions based on the type of product previously housed in the trailer and tank. The position requires adherence to safety standards at all times, ensuring that all cleaning processes are conducted in a safe and efficient manner. In this role, the technician will perform various tasks including verifying the identification tags of the trailers to confirm the contents, consulting material safety data sheets to understand the hazards associated with the chemicals being cleaned, and managing the pressure within the trailer tanks. The technician will also utilize equipment such as sprinkle balls, roto jets, and pressure washers to complete the washout procedures effectively. Additionally, the role may involve moving and parking trailers in the wash rack area as needed. The position demands a proactive approach to safety and cleanliness, requiring the technician to be familiar with the equipment and procedures necessary for effective washout operations. The technician must also be able to lift and move items weighing up to 30 pounds and possess good vision capabilities to perform the job effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Perform wash out procedures based on the product inside the trailer tank.
  • Verify identification tags to confirm the product contained in the trailer.
  • Consult material safety data sheets to understand hazards related to the chemicals being cleaned.
  • Verify pressure inside the trailer tank and bleed off if required.
  • Complete remaining wash out procedures as directed by company standards.
  • Utilize sprinkle ball, roto jet, and pressure washer to complete washout procedures including hoses, valves, and tanker outer body.
  • Occasionally move and park trailers in the wash rack area.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 1 year experience in wash rack operations.
  • A valid driver's license is required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in customer service is preferred.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% is preferred.
