About the position
The Wash Bay/Fuel Island Attendant is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and operational efficiency of the wash bay and fuel island areas. This role involves cleaning trucks, monitoring equipment, and ensuring safety protocols are followed. The position requires working a rotating night shift with potential overtime and weekend hours.
Responsibilities
- Ensure proper trucks are parked in the designated area
- Vacuum, clean windows, dash, and console
- Monitor operations of cleaning machines and notify supervisors of malfunctions
- Use materials such as water, cleaning agents, brushes, and cloths for cleaning
- Keep wash bay area clean and organized
- Sweep, shovel, or vacuum loose debris into containers and remove
- Assist in washing trucks and checking DEF levels
- Park trucks after fueling and ensure inspection completion
- Attend all required safety meetings
- Follow safe work practices
- Assist in tank setup if needed
- Operate a variety of light and heavy equipment
- Use various hand tools, power tools, and other necessary equipment
- Perform manual labor and promote cooperation with personnel
- Unload fuel products to yard storage tanks
Requirements
- Minimum age 18
- Must live within 60 miles of terminal
- Dependable attendance with no unauthorized absences
- Clean MVR (Motor Vehicle Record)
- Valid Class C driver's license
- Ability to operate pressure washers and vacuums
- Ability to resolve issues quickly
- Ability to work a variety of hours, including overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Effective communication skills with co-workers and customers
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Must be able to stand for long periods and work with hands and arms for extended periods
Nice-to-haves
- Strong knowledge of fuel delivery equipment (trucks, pumps, etc.)
- Experience working in a similar job
- Experience operating power and manual tools and light and heavy equipment
- Experience working outside in various weather conditions
