About the position

The Bar Director at Ned's Club Washington, DC is responsible for leading the bar team in delivering exceptional drink service and hospitality. This role involves overseeing bar operations, managing staff recruitment and development, and ensuring high standards of drink quality and customer experience. The Bar Director will also be accountable for financial performance and inventory management, while fostering a creative and inclusive environment within the team.

Responsibilities

• Lead the bar team to prepare and serve drinks from a range of menus.
• Own all people leadership tasks including recruitment, development, and performance management.
• Train the bar team to provide exceptional guest experiences and drink recommendations.
• Support bar teams in efficiently preparing orders and maintaining stock levels.
• Oversee a polished operation that enhances guest experiences in visible bar areas.
• Model outstanding hospitality and drink quality standards, providing coaching and feedback.
• Maintain a safe and clean bar environment for guests and teammates.
• Take accountability for financial performance and results of the bar operations.
• Manage beverage inventories and ensure par levels are maintained weekly.
• Lead seasonal menu changes for the beverage program.

Requirements

• Previous bar supervisory or leadership experience with a proven track record of outstanding service.
• High standards in drink quality and customer service.
• Commercial mindset for delivering excellent financial performance.
• Extensive knowledge of drinks, particularly cocktails and wines.
• Wine and Spirit Education Trust (WSET) qualification preferred.
