About the position

The Waste Coordinator at GrayMar Environmental Services, Inc. is responsible for ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations while managing hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials. This role involves profiling waste, maintaining records, and coordinating waste services with clients. The Waste Coordinator plays a crucial part in supporting the company's commitment to safety and environmental standards, while also contributing to a positive team culture.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures Health and Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner at all times.
  • Profiling waste based on internal and external requests.
  • Amending existing profiles based on new information like SDS's or analytical data.
  • Managing onsite 10-day activities, storage inspections, and record keeping.
  • Segregation, labeling, and manifesting of hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials.
  • Preparing and printing waste manifests and labels within the WasteLinq System.
  • Scheduling waste services requests with clients and local operations.
  • Testing of unknown materials adhering to all regulations and company guidelines.
  • Management of the onsite non-hazardous liquid and solid consolidation bin program.
  • Operation of Class 'B' vehicle to provide waste transportation support as needed.
  • Supporting HHW collection events, lab moves, and lab packs in the field as needed.
  • Conducting hazardous waste manifest audits in other facilities outside of the local region.
  • Preparation of disposal pricing needed for large bid packages.

Requirements

  • 40-Hour HAZWOPER Certification.
  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry or equivalent science discipline.
  • Familiarity with 49CFR 171 and 40 CFR 265 requirements.
  • High level of knowledge with OSHA, DOT, and RCRA regulations pertaining to hazardous waste handling and transportation.
  • Class 'B' CLD license with hazardous materials endorsements preferred.
  • Safety-oriented mindset with the determination to follow all procedures and policies.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA).
  • Experience operating a Class 'B' vehicle.
