About the position

The Wastewater Engineer/Project Manager at HDR is responsible for leading and managing wastewater projects, including treatment facilities, pipelines, and pump stations. This role involves business development, project management, technical leadership, and staff development within the Water Business Group in Colorado. The position requires collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and effective communication with clients to ensure project success and adherence to design standards.

Responsibilities

• Support the design of wastewater treatment projects for municipalities.
• Produce design calculations, technical reports, and construction documents.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and develop piloting workplans.
• Engage with clients to understand their needs and how HDR can assist them.
• Prepare construction documents for water and wastewater systems, including calculations and specifications.
• Coordinate project activities and equipment sizing with owners.
• Serve as the owner's representative during construction activities.
• Conduct work sessions for design development and contract documentation.
• Present at local, regional, and international conferences.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
• 7 years of related experience in wastewater projects.
• Minimum of 2 years of project management experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Experience with MS Office and MS Project; Access experience is a plus.
• Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to work independently.
• Strong technical writing and organizational skills.

• MS in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
