About the position

As a Wastewater Operator II at Jacobs, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of wastewater treatment plants. This position involves a variety of tasks including equipment maintenance, quality control testing, and compliance with operational policies. You will work collaboratively to diagnose operational issues, monitor treatment processes, and ensure the safety and well-being of your team and the community.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance of equipment and quality control testing in wastewater treatment plants.
• Compile reports and maintain accurate records.
• Adhere to compliance with policies and procedures related to wastewater operations.
• Diagnose operating problems and monitor adjustments in treatment facilities.
• Control flow and processing of water/wastewater, sludge, and effluent.
• Collect samples and maintain shift logs.
• Perform other duties as required to support plant operations.

Requirements

• Certification at a level required by the State of Massachusetts.
• At least three (3) years of experience in operating water/wastewater treatment plants.
• Advanced understanding of computer software including Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to enter data into a maintenance management system.
• A valid driver's license.

Nice-to-haves

• A current, or working towards obtaining, an intermediate to advanced level water/wastewater treatment certification.
• Familiarity with the principles and practices of water/wastewater treatment plant operations, valves, pumps, and motors.
• Knowledge of safe work practices.
