About the position

The Water Conservation Coordinator II will play a vital role in the Water Contracts and Conservation team at LCRA, focusing on the preservation and protection of water resources in the Colorado River and Highland Lakes. This position involves engaging with communities, implementing water conservation practices, and promoting best practices among municipal customers and property owners. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to excellence and embody LCRA's core values of service, initiative, respect, integrity, and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Contain knowledge of water conservation practices and policy in Texas, including TCEQ irrigation standards and the EPA WaterSense program.
  • Participate in outreach events with LCRA's municipal customers, neighborhood associations, school districts, and water conservation professional associations.
  • Coordinate with Water Conservation and communications staff to encourage LCRA wholesale customers and lakeside customers to adopt water conservation best practices and programs.
  • Establish and build relationships with Homeowners and Property Owners Associations (HOAs and POAs) to deliver conservation best practices effectively.

Requirements

  • Six or more years of experience in water conservation, related program implementation, and/or planning.
  • A degree in business, planning, social science, environmental management, or a relevant field may substitute for certain years of experience.
  • Valid driver's license.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of water conservation methods.
  • Experience with social media and educational outreach campaigns.
  • Excellent customer relationship skills and a proactive approach to customer engagement.
  • Knowledge of landscape irrigation conservation standards and agronomy best management practices.
  • Strong public speaking and presentation skills.
