About the position
The Water Damage Technician position at BELFOR is responsible for providing operational support in mitigation efforts for clients affected by water damage. This role involves tasks such as water extraction, mold removal, and the use of specialized equipment under supervision. The technician will work closely with a team to ensure high-quality service and adherence to safety standards, ultimately contributing to the restoration of clients' properties and lives.
Responsibilities
- Receive instructions from the team leader.
- Perform daily inspections of vehicle safety and maintenance, ensuring cleanliness and operational readiness.
- Pay attention to details in all tasks.
- Comply with BELFOR standards to safeguard clients' properties.
- Demonstrate knowledge of customer service principles and practices.
- Work under time constraints to meet specific deadlines.
- Travel and work during nights and weekends as required.
- Accurately report time worked and equipment used.
- Attend BELFOR-sponsored operations and necessary security training courses.
Requirements
- Water pumping and extraction skills.
- Experience in mold remediation.
- Ability to move and reset contents.
- Setting up drying equipment.
- Knowledge of antimicrobial applications as appropriate.
- Conduct vehicle safety and maintenance inspections.
- Maintain vehicles in a clean and serviceable condition.
- Construct polyethylene enclosures for containment.
- Remove and dispose of debris safely.
- Maintain equipment used in daily tasks.
Nice-to-haves
- Knowledge of various pump systems.
- Ability to identify product usage and disposal requirements with training.
