The Water/Fire Restoration Technician position involves monitoring, inspecting, and completing tasks related to water restoration jobs to ensure the effective completion of drying, demolition, and various restoration activities. The technician is responsible for preparing and reviewing documentation, including notes, photos, and other necessary documents, in accordance with company policies and procedures to facilitate reimbursement from insurance companies. A key aspect of the role is to explain the processes used to complete active jobs and the next steps to resolution directly to customers, ensuring they are informed and satisfied with the service provided. In this role, the technician retrieves work orders, checks the travel route, and ensures that the appropriate equipment and supplies are loaded onto the truck before arriving at the work site. They are expected to complete assigned jobs according to company processes while maintaining quality control on each job. Responsibilities include performing water damage repairs, which encompass water extraction, pack-out of contents, and the removal and disposal of non-salvageable materials, as well as light construction and demolition tasks as directed by a supervisor. The technician must ensure that all equipment, supplies, vehicles, and products are handled properly and report any malfunctions or damages to the supervisor. After completing jobs, the technician inspects the work and obtains customer signatures for approval, requesting payments when necessary. Daily monitoring and tasks on assigned water jobs for both residential and commercial customers must be performed with urgency. The technician is also responsible for making daily adjustments to the drying plan based on meter readings and resolving any issues that arise with customers, communicating these issues and daily job activities with the supervisor and key company staff. Documentation and pictures must be prepared according to company policies to ensure reimbursement from insurance companies.
