About the position

The WaterKids Swim Instructor position involves teaching swim classes to children aged 3-12 years at Waterbabies Aquatic Center and Bellevue Aquatic Center. The role requires individuals who are enthusiastic about water and enjoy working with both children and adults. Instructors will be responsible for ensuring a safe and engaging learning environment while promoting swimming skills and water safety.

Responsibilities

• Teach swim classes for children aged 3-12 years in WaterBabies, WaterKids, Youth, and Adult swim programs.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants during swim lessons.
• Communicate effectively with students and their parents regarding progress and safety.
• Maintain a clean and organized teaching environment.
• Attend required training sessions and meetings.

Requirements

• Previous swim instruction experience is helpful but not required.
• CPR and First Aid certification required within 3 months of hire.
• Must be fluent in English, both oral and written.
• Availability to work evenings and weekends is necessary.
• Must be reliable, organized, and detail-oriented.
• Ability to work a minimum of 15-20 hours a week.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in teaching swimming is preferred.
• Lifeguard training certification is preferred.
