About the position

Water Maintenance Mechanic Technician under supervision, participates, services, and assists in the maintenance, repair, installation, replacement, and construction of mechanical components of the City's water systems and facilities. Water Maintenance Mechanic Technician is the entry level class in the Water Maintenance Mechanic series. Vacancies currently exists in the Department of Public Utilities, Water Division. Immediate and future vacancies will be filled from this eligible list for a period of three (3) months from the date the eligible list is created, with the option of extending that period for up to a maximum of two years at the City's discretion.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the maintenance, repair, installation, replacement, and construction of mechanical components of the City's water systems and facilities.
• Assist in servicing water systems and facilities under supervision.

Requirements

• HS Diploma or GED completion.
• One year of full-time work experience in the maintenance, cleaning, inspection, repair, installation, replacement, and construction of mechanical components of water systems.
• Possession and continued maintenance of a valid Class 'C' California Driver's License.
• Obtain a valid Water Distribution Operator Certificate, Grade D1, within 12 months of appointment.
