About the position

The Water Mitigation Technician at Cougar Restoration Inc. is responsible for assisting in the restoration of properties affected by water, fire, and mold damage. Technicians will engage in various tasks, including assessing damage, performing light demolition, and managing emergency responses. Responsibilities

• Coordinating with property owners to assess damage that needs fixing.
• Performing light demolition tasks as required.
• Monitoring jobs daily, recording moisture readings, and taking/uploading photos.
• Providing detailed notes into the job database for in-house representatives.
• Rotated on-call duties during weekends and after hours for emergency issues.
• Working in confined spaces such as attics and crawl spaces.
• Wearing full PPE while cleaning mold or sewage leaks.
• Helping property owners through the claims process.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent education.
• At least 1 year of experience in water mitigation, mold remediation, or fire damage restoration preferred.
• Valid driver's license required.
• IICRC Certification (WRT, ANSI, AMRT, or related) is a plus.
• Ability to work in confined spaces.

Nice-to-haves

• Bilingual candidates are ideal but not required.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
