About the position

ESG Operations is seeking a Water Operator to manage and maintain equipment at a municipal water treatment facility in Forsyth County, GA. The role requires an active water treatment operator license or the ability to obtain one within 12 months. Candidates with relevant degrees or experience in biology, chemistry, or environmental science are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Operates a variety of equipment and machinery, including valves, pumps, motors, and disinfection equipment.
• Conducts routine testing, monitoring, and maintenance of production wells and water/wastewater facilities.
• Performs and documents treatment processes and maintenance of treatment facility equipment to ensure proper operations.
• Documents plant performance, including daily flow and chemical usage.
• Responds to call outs and after-hours emergencies to repair treatment equipment and instrumentation.
• Provides customer service functions when necessary.
• Ensures facilities are secure and maintains treatment plant grounds as needed.
• May communicate with clients and customers regarding routine technical aspects of operations.
• May coordinate maintenance activities at the treatment facility.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED and water treatment experience preferred.
• Valid Driver's License (CDL preferred).
• Water/Wastewater Operator's License preferred but not required.
• Ability to follow manual and operating instructions.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and internet.
• Basic knowledge of water/wastewater operations.
• Working knowledge of electrical components.
• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
