We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Water Process Mechanical Engineer to join our team in North Texas. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on innovative projects that provide solutions to our municipal clients' water and wastewater challenges, both locally and globally. As a Water Process Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing water and wastewater pump stations and treatment facilities, as well as developing conveyance systems. Your work will involve technical writing and the production of construction drawings and specifications. You will leverage your expertise to design pump stations, including performing pipe sizing calculations, selecting pump types, and designing process facilities for various treatment systems. Additionally, you will work on hydraulic studies and the selection of rotating equipment such as centrifugal pumps and blowers. Collaboration is key in this role, as you will work with diverse teams to deliver complex projects while serving and developing clients across the United States and internationally. You will also have the chance to connect with our technical experts in water and wastewater treatment, enhancing your professional growth and contributing to impactful projects that transform communities. Your responsibilities will include evaluating and selecting process equipment, developing facility layouts, conducting water and wastewater process modeling, performing data analysis and hydraulic modeling, writing technical reports, providing construction services support, and conducting field inspections of mechanical equipment. Responsibilities

  • Design water and wastewater pump stations and treatment facilities.
  • Develop conveyance systems and technical documentation including construction drawings and specifications.
  • Evaluate and select process equipment and pumping systems.
  • Conduct water and wastewater process modeling, mass balances, and design calculations.
  • Perform data analysis and hydraulic modeling.
  • Write technical reports and provide construction services support.
  • Conduct field inspections of mechanical equipment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, civil engineering, or a related engineering field from an accredited university or college.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Self-motivation and team-oriented work practices.
  • Strong data analysis skills and technical problem-solving ability.
  • Organizational skills and the ability to effectively multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient skills with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Nice-to-haves

  • 10 or more years of experience in municipal water and/or wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, and conveyance systems.
  • Master's degree in mechanical or related engineering discipline.
  • Hydraulic modeling skills (AFT Fathom, Pipe-Flo).
  • Construction or facility operations experience.
