About the position

The Water Resources Engineer - Project Manager at SEH is responsible for leading projects that design and implement innovative water systems aimed at creating a climate-resilient environment. This role involves project management, client interaction, and mentoring engineering staff while ensuring the successful delivery of water resource-related plans and specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Project management of water resource projects
  • Leading the preparation of water resource related plans and specifications
  • Interfacing with clients to understand their needs
  • Marketing SEH services to potential clients
  • Mentoring and guiding engineering staff

Requirements

  • Licensed Professional Engineer or ability to receive licensure within 6 months
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field
  • Strong experience in water resources and/or civil engineering
  • Skilled in project management including managing budgets, personnel, and project schedules
  • Experience with development of construction plans, specifications, and bidding documents
  • Working knowledge of CAD software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, Openroads, or GIS
  • Experience in proposal and client management
  • Ability to scope, budget, and coordinate sub-consultants
  • Experience representing SEH with agencies at project and public meetings
  • Ability to travel as needed for team meetings and client consultations

Nice-to-haves

  • Minimum of 10 years of previous experience in water resources and/or civil engineering
  • Experience in hydrologic and hydraulic analysis and design
  • Familiarity with software programs such as HEC-RAS, SWMM, and stormwater conveyance software
  • Established relationships with clients or potential clients
  • Reside in or around Sioux Falls, SD, Des Moines, IA, St. Paul, MN, or Omaha, NE
