About the position
The Water Resources Engineer - Project Manager at SEH is responsible for leading projects that design and implement innovative water systems aimed at creating a climate-resilient environment. This role involves project management, client interaction, and mentoring engineering staff while ensuring the successful delivery of water resource-related plans and specifications.
Responsibilities
- Project management of water resource projects
- Leading the preparation of water resource related plans and specifications
- Interfacing with clients to understand their needs
- Marketing SEH services to potential clients
- Mentoring and guiding engineering staff
Requirements
- Licensed Professional Engineer or ability to receive licensure within 6 months
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- Strong experience in water resources and/or civil engineering
- Skilled in project management including managing budgets, personnel, and project schedules
- Experience with development of construction plans, specifications, and bidding documents
- Working knowledge of CAD software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, Openroads, or GIS
- Experience in proposal and client management
- Ability to scope, budget, and coordinate sub-consultants
- Experience representing SEH with agencies at project and public meetings
- Ability to travel as needed for team meetings and client consultations
Nice-to-haves
- Minimum of 10 years of previous experience in water resources and/or civil engineering
- Experience in hydrologic and hydraulic analysis and design
- Familiarity with software programs such as HEC-RAS, SWMM, and stormwater conveyance software
- Established relationships with clients or potential clients
- Reside in or around Sioux Falls, SD, Des Moines, IA, St. Paul, MN, or Omaha, NE
