About the position

The Water Resources Engineer - Project Manager at SEH is responsible for leading water resource-related projects, managing client relationships, and mentoring engineering staff. This role focuses on designing and implementing innovative water systems that contribute to climate resilience and community impact. The position requires strong project management skills and a commitment to collaboration and professional development within a supportive, employee-owned culture.

Responsibilities

  • Project management of water resource-related projects
  • Leading the preparation of plans and specifications for water resources
  • Interfacing with clients to understand their needs and provide solutions
  • Marketing SEH services to potential clients
  • Mentoring and guiding engineering staff in their professional development

Requirements

  • Licensed Professional Engineer or ability to obtain licensure within 6 months
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
  • Strong experience in water resources and/or civil engineering
  • Skilled in project management, including budget and personnel management
  • Experience in developing construction plans, specifications, and bidding documents
  • Proficient in CAD software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, Openroads, or GIS
  • Experience in proposal and client management with a proven track record of leading successful proposals
  • Ability to scope, budget, and coordinate with sub-consultants
  • Experience representing the company at project and public meetings
  • Willingness to travel as needed for team meetings and client consultations

Nice-to-haves

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in water resources and/or civil engineering
  • Experience in hydrologic and hydraulic analysis and design
  • Familiarity with software programs such as HEC-RAS and SWMM
  • Established relationships with clients in the industry
  • Residing in or around Sioux Falls, SD, Des Moines, IA, St. Paul, MN, or Omaha, NE
