About the position

Earth Data Incorporated is seeking a full-time Water Resources Engineer to join their team in Centreville, Maryland. The role involves working on various water supply projects, providing technical support, and managing project engineering tasks. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil or environmental engineering, with a focus on water resources.

Responsibilities

  • Function as technical specialist and/or project manager on a variety of water supply projects.
  • Interact with and provide technical support to an experienced staff of engineers, geologists, GIS technicians, and field technicians.
  • Provide project engineering and task management; collect, assimilate and present data in reports, memos, and public forums.
  • Lead production of design calculations and technical reports; lead preparation of engineering plans and specifications for the design of water supply facilities.
  • Assist in state and local-level water resources permitting efforts.
  • Demonstrate superior task management skills, including scheduling, prioritizing, following up, and keeping project information organized.
  • Demonstrate superior problem-solving and analytical skills.

Requirements

  • Degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering or related field.
  • PE license and ability to obtain in Maryland and Virginia within 6 months.
  • Experience with the construction, development and testing of deep, large diameter production wells, primarily in unconsolidated sediments.
  • Experience with the design, installation and testing of submersible and vertical turbine pumps and motors.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and client management skills.
  • Ability to make decisions on significant water supply planning, design and engineering procedures.

Nice-to-haves

  • MAR or ASR well drilling experience is a plus.
