About the position

Aspect Consulting, a Geosyntec Company, is seeking a Water Resources Professional Engineer to join their Stormwater Practice in various locations across Washington. This full-time position focuses on stormwater and stream restoration design services, with opportunities for hybrid work. The role involves working under senior engineers and project managers, with a pathway to independent design and project management responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct field activities at stormwater and stream restoration design project sites, including existing condition assessments and drainage system inventories.
  • Complete hydrologic and hydraulic calculations and modeling.
  • Review and utilize stormwater management and stream restoration design manuals.
  • Understand and apply state and federal stormwater regulations.
  • Prepare conceptual stormwater and stream restoration designs using GIS.
  • Design stormwater conveyance and treatment systems, including specifications.
  • Create construction plans and details in AutoCAD for stormwater and stream restoration projects.
  • Research and implement stormwater treatment technologies for specific sites.
  • Prepare engineering and construction cost estimates.
  • Write technical submittals and reports.
  • Provide project construction management support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in civil, environmental, or water resources engineering or related field (required).
  • Washington State PE registration, or ability to obtain by reciprocity (required).
  • At least 7 years of experience in engineering and design work on stormwater projects (required).
  • Experience working on stormwater and/or stream restoration construction sites.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
  • Clear writing and communication skills.
  • Solid proficiency using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and ArcGIS.
  • Valid U.S. driver's license and satisfactory driving record for business travel (required).

Nice-to-haves

  • Advanced degree in civil, environmental, or water resources engineering or related field (preferred).
