About the position

The Water Technician position is responsible for providing operational support in mitigation efforts for clients, particularly in water damage scenarios. This role involves tasks related to water pumping, extraction, and mold removal, utilizing specialized equipment under supervision. It represents a level 2 position in the progressive itinerary of Water Damage at BELFOR.

Responsibilities

• Receive instructions from the team leader.
• Understand and follow MSDS protocols for chemical products used during mitigation processes.
• Perform daily inspections of vehicle safety and maintenance, ensuring cleanliness and operational readiness.
• Demonstrate mastery of the Book of Damage Caused by Water of BELFOR.
• Under supervision, use various equipment such as scrapers, rinse rods, and water extractors appropriately.
• Build adequate containment systems using appropriate calculations and equipment under supervision.
• Properly use cleaning and disinfecting solutions and debris removal techniques from confined areas.
• Use appropriate lifting techniques and protect client belongings during the process.
• Remove vapor barriers, label recoverable cuttings, and install air flow systems under supervision.
• Comply with BELFOR standards to safeguard client property.
• Provide excellent customer service and work under time constraints to meet deadlines.
• Report time worked and equipment used accurately and timely.
• Attend operations and security training courses as required.

Requirements

• Experience in water pumping and extraction.
• Knowledge of mold remediation techniques.
• Ability to move and reset contents as needed.
• Experience in setting up drying equipment and antimicrobial applications.
• Conduct vehicle safety and maintenance inspections.
• Maintain vehicles in a clean and serviceable condition.
• Construct polyethylene enclosures for containment.
• Remove and dispose of debris appropriately.
• Maintain equipment used in daily tasks.
