About the position

The Water Technician at BELFOR is responsible for leading water damage teams in residential and small commercial projects. This role requires technical competence in water and mold damage standards, equipment maintenance, and moisture assessment. The technician will manage multiple projects, assist in training junior staff, and ensure compliance with safety and operational standards while providing exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

• Receive instructions from the Supervisor and direct teams in the use of appropriate PPE.
• Review daily project requirements, document progress, and communicate challenges to managers.
• Provide field documentation, including photographic records and sketches for TPA projects.
• Perform daily inspections of vehicle safety and maintenance, ensuring cleanliness and operational readiness.
• Comply with BELFOR standards to safeguard property.
• Demonstrate strong customer service skills and work under time constraints to meet deadlines.
• Report accurately on time worked and equipment used.
• Attend BELFOR-sponsored operations and necessary security training courses.

Requirements

• Supervise and perform basic water damage tasks.
• Gather and upload pictures to job files.
• Maintain equipment used for debris removal and drying processes.
• Identify Class 4 materials and deploy effective drying techniques.
• Evaluate structural integrity and assess restoration costs.
• Create moisture maps using provided tools and knowledge.
• Supervise small crews on assigned tasks.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Truck mount extraction systems, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with BELFOR Water Damage Book.
