The City of Winchester is seeking a dedicated and skilled Water Treatment Plant Operator to join our Public Services Department at the Percy D. Miller Facility. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the proper functioning of various equipment, including pumps, motors, instrumentation, filters, and chemical feeders. You will maintain operational parameters as specified by the Facility Manager, Chief Operator, or Shift Leader, ensuring that all systems operate within the required standards. Your duties will also include checking equipment, recording data, and monitoring SCADA and recording equipment to determine usage or flow. Additionally, you will be tasked with collecting samples from designated points to ensure water quality meets regulatory standards. Other duties may be assigned as necessary to support the overall operations of the facility. This position offers a starting salary that varies based on licensure level, with opportunities for advancement as you gain experience and complete required training courses. Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to complete within 6 months of employment - Small Water Systems Operation and Maintenance Course
  • Ability to complete within 9 months of employment - 3 facility Demonstration of Capabilities, DOC's
