About the position

The Water Treatment Technician is responsible for monitoring and managing critical facility utilities, including the UPW treatment system, water supply system, and wastewater treatment. This role ensures that all systems and equipment function according to established standard operating procedures (SOPs) and maintains records to support efficient manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring that all systems (WWT, WTP, RECYCLE, ETC) and equipment are functioning and performing according to established SOP's
  • Maintain equipment records and assist in the development of SOP and LOTO procedures
  • Maintain records of equipment status and maintenance activities to support the efficient and reliable operation of the manufacturing processes
  • Conduct routine operation of the Central Monitoring System, UPW treatment system, water supply system, and other systems including pumps, valves, fittings, instrumentation, piping, etc.
  • Respond to alarms and perform routine tasks to maintain system functionality
  • Loading and unloading of gas/chemicals and waste chemicals
  • Water filter replacement (CIP) and (COP) activities
  • Conduct proactive inventory to ensure adequate supply of chemicals for water treatment processes
  • Ensure cleanliness of equipment and facilities areas
  • Monitor and adjust chemical treatment processes
  • Respond to equipment malfunctions, alarms, and other emergencies
  • Assist with spare part, chemical, consumable management
  • Anticipate consumption of chemical patterns and adjust stock levels accordingly

Requirements

  • 2+ years experience in electrical, instrumentation, and controls
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role within a manufacturing environment
  • Proficient in electrical/instrumentation systems and utilities within a manufacturing environment
  • In-depth knowledge of environmental, health, and safety regulations applicable to manufacturing factory
  • Ability to illustrate general maintenance requisite and simple procedures for operation on various pumps including reciprocating, centrifugal, vane, etc.
  • Experience in ensuring compliance with regulatory standards

Nice-to-haves

  • Relevant certifications are preferred
  • Chemistry lab or laboratory experience a plus
