About the position

The Water Truck Driver at Texas Materials is responsible for operating a straight truck with a tank mounted, transporting water to and from job sites and filling stations. The role emphasizes safety, compliance with regulations, and thorough vehicle inspections. The driver must demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and a commitment to teamwork while maintaining a professional demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Drive a straight truck with a tank mounted to transport water to and from job sites.
• Conduct pre and post-trip vehicle inspections, including paperwork and physical checks of the vehicle.
• Follow specific instructions from ground personnel or foremen on job sites.
• Complete daily paperwork accurately and efficiently.
• Adhere to TxDOT and Federal regulations to ensure compliance.
• Maintain a safety-oriented approach and follow company policies regarding personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Assist co-workers and supervisors with other duties as required.
• Train less experienced employees who hold a CDL A or B license.

Requirements

• Possess a Class A or B CDL license with a Tank endorsement.
• At least two years of truck-driving experience.
• Proficient in operating tractor trailers with 10 and 13 speed transmissions.
• Ability to complete pre/post trip vehicle inspections.
• Knowledge of TxDOT & Federal regulations and a desire to stay compliant.
• Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated with a professional attitude.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience driving trucks with similar weight and equipment for at least 3 years.
• Possession of hazmat and tanker endorsements.
